1. What Manila is

Manila is an offline PDF toolkit for Android, published by Hugo Software. It converts photos to PDF, merges, splits, reorders, compresses, password-protects, redacts, watermarks, numbers and exports PDF files. All processing happens on your device.

2. The free tools and the PRO subscription

Photos to PDF, Merge, Split / extract and Organize pages are free and have no page limit and no watermark.

The remaining tools (Compress, Redact, Add password, Remove password, Watermark, Page numbers, PDF to JPG) require the PRO subscription, sold through Google Play as an auto-renewing subscription.

• The price and any free-trial period are shown by Google Play in your own currency, inside the app and on the store page.
• The subscription renews automatically until you cancel it.
• You cancel it in Google Play → Subscriptions, not inside the app.
• Refunds are handled by Google under Google Play's refund policy.

3. Your files are your responsibility

Manila changes files. Some of those changes cannot be undone:

• Redaction rebuilds the marked pages from an image so the covered words are removed from the file. That is the point of the tool — but the removed text cannot be recovered from the output.
• Add password encrypts the file with AES-256. If you lose that password, nobody can open the file again. We cannot open it for you, and there is no recovery key.
• Compress re-encodes the images inside the PDF at lower quality.

The app never overwrites your original: every tool produces a new file that you save or share yourself. Keep your originals until you have checked the result.

4. Use it lawfully

You are responsible for the documents you process and for the law that applies to them. Do not use Manila to remove a password from a file you are not entitled to open; the tool only removes a password you already know and cannot break one you do not have. Redaction is a technical operation — whether a given redaction satisfies a legal or regulatory obligation is a question for your own lawyer, not for this app.

5. No warranty

Manila is provided "as is". We work hard on correctness and test the engines against real documents, but we cannot promise that every PDF in the world will be handled perfectly, or that a result will be fit for a particular purpose. To the extent permitted by law, Hugo Software is not liable for lost data, lost profit, or any indirect damage arising from use of the app. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

6. Changes

We may update the app and these terms. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new date.
